Originally from Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, Leslie got her start in the New York based rock band To The Moon Alice (A&M) before moving to Nashville to begin her solo career. After writing a group of songs for her project, Leslie also co-wrote the single "Just Like Love" for Peter Cetera, along with "Rule The World" for his album A Perfect World in 2001.
She signed as the first writer to Paul McCartney's publishing company MPL's new pop division from 2001-2003; received an Emmy Nomination in 2002 for the original song "On My Own"; released her debut album "Different for Girls" on Atlantic Records, and started getting her songs into film and soundtracks like What A Girl Wants, White Oleander, Barbie of Swan Lake, and Jammin' In Jamaica.
After leaving Atlantic in 2004, she continued writing for films and television and her credits include Gray Matters, Las Vegas (TV), Just My Luck (performed by Chantal Kreviazuk), MyScene Goes Hollywood, Everything You Want, Live!, My Best Friend's Girl (2008), Barbie and The Three Musketeers (2009), among others.
In 2007 Leslie released the album "Everlasting Road" which was recorded with her long time collaborator Chris Pelcer.
Leslie toured with Yanni as a featured artist as part of the Yanni Voices North American and Mexico Tour in 2009. Leslie wrote and recorded for the project for several years. Two PBS Specials aired in 2009 - A PBS Special about Yanni Voices (behind the scenes) and also a special concert Live at The Forum (Mundo Imperial) from Acapulco Mexico. The Yanni Voices CD was released in March of 2009 featuring four songs with Mills. Yanni Voices Live DVD was released in October of 2009.
Also in 2009, she released the indie album "Falling Off The World" (also recorded with Chris Pelcer) which was recognized as one of KGRL's best albums of the year.
