About Leslie Mills....
Leslie is an all around Creative. An Emmy nominated Songwriter/ Publisher. Actress. Recording Artist. Producer. Voice Over Talent.
Growing up in Northern Kentucky, Leslie studied dance, music, and theatre. She got her start in New York, fronting the rock band To The Moon Alice (A&M Records). They toured extensively for a couple of years on the East Coast, playing many festivals & college towns.
After the band broke up, Leslie took a trip to Nashville, TN, where she met her longtime Australian writing & production partner, Chris Pelcer. Leslie performed for the legendary producer Ahmet Ertegun, and soon after signed to Atlantic Records, along with signing as a songwriter to Paul McCartney's company MPL.
While signed with Atlantic Records, Leslie started getting her songs into films - (What A Girl Wants, White Oleander), along with songs recorded by other artists (Peter Cetera, Paulini). She performed at the Vision Awards in Los Angeles for two consecutive years in honor of Ahmet Ertegun, Paul McCartney, and Burt Bacharach. During this time she garnered an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Original Song, "On My Own", and had the great honor of performing the National Anthem at Shea Stadium for the NY Yankees/Mets Subway Series.
Leslie co-produced and performed a track for Mattel for Barbie of Swan Lake, which led to numerous projects for Mattel's Barbie & MyScene Barbie movies. (Barbie & the three Musketeers, MyScene Goes Hollywood). After leaving Atlantic, Leslie continued writing and licensing music to films & television (Just My Luck, My BestFriend's Girl, Las Vegas). She started her own label, Tiny Violet Records, and released the album Everlasting Road, Falling Off The World, and Feel Like LA: The Hollywood Collection (featuring some of her pop songs from films).
Leslie was asked to be a featured Artist for Yanni's project called Yanni Voices. She wrote for the project for several years and was part of PBS Specials, ABC Christmas Special, and a Tour throughout Mexico, Canada, and the US, playing Radio City Music Hall, and arenas around the country. She's had songs on three consecutive Yanni Albums. After that tour, Leslie focused on returning to acting, studying both in Los Angeles and Nashville. She has appeared in a number of independent films (Tunnel Vision, Wild Sands) and television (Nashville, Drop Dead Diva).
